Arrival & Transfers

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our Dream Trails Expeditions representative will greet you and transfer you to your Arusha hotel. The safari begins the following morning after a briefing.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Route: Kilimanjaro International Airport → Arusha
Distance / Time: ~1 hour drive from JRO
Elevation: ~1,400 m
Habitat: Urban / Highland Garden

Experience:

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet your Dream Trails Expeditions representative for a warm welcome and transfer to your lodge in Arusha.
On the way, enjoy your first glimpse of Tanzania’s landscapes and local life.
Arrive at your lodge, check-in, and relax after your long journey.
Later in the afternoon, your guide will give a short safari briefing and help you prepare for the adventure ahead.
Enjoy dinner at the lodge and a restful night.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park Safari

Route: Arusha → Tarangire National Park
Distance / Time: ~120 km | Approx. 2.5 hours drive
Habitat: Savannah woodland and riverine forest

Experience:

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park — famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse birdlife.
Enjoy a full-day game drive through the park’s beautiful landscapes, often dotted with giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and predators like lions and leopards.
Break for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park.
In the afternoon, continue your game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Route: Tarangire → Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Descend 600 meters into the famous Ngorongoro Crater — home to over 25,000 animals including rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, and flamingos.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool or a scenic viewpoint inside the crater.
In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and head to your lodge located along the rim or nearby highlands for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Drive to Serengeti & Afternoon Game Drive

Route: Ngorongoro → Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive through the beautiful Ngorongoro highlands and enter Serengeti National Park — Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destination.
Stop at viewpoints or Maasai villages along the way (optional).

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Adventure

Route: Serengeti → Arusha (via Ngorongoro / Karatu route)
